Against the backdrop of the Pacific War of WWII, South Pacific blends high-stakes wartime romance with a poignant exploration of social prejudice. Winner of the 1950 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the original Broadway production won ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Libretto. It is the only musical production ever to have won all four Tony Awards for acting.
