Hanukkah, also known as The Festival of Lights, is an eight-day Jewish holiday commemorating the re-dedication of the second Temple by the Maccabees and their victory over the Syrians in 165 BCE. It begins at sunset of the preceding evening, with a candle lighting, which continues each evening with an additional candle. Read more about Hanukkah.
